The Airodyne Advantage

Airodyne’s Design Philosophy provides significant advantages and lower total life cycle costs for your operations.

Additional Fuel Savings

Airodyne’s custom fit ability allows you to match the height, width and depth of the fairings to the specific application. Proper aerodynamic matching and fine tuning of the airflow provides additional savings over the manufacturer’s universal applications.

Reduced Damage

By designing for day-to-day operation, Airodyne reduces damage to the truck and the fairings. The shape of the cab side fairings allows proper air flow with reduced width; providing additional clearance and visibility when backing up the rig. The lower overall height reduces damage from low clearances and interference with the trailer at sharp ramp angles. The inherent advantage of flexibility with strength that comes from fiberglass construction is not compromised by excess bracing and rigidity. Minor impacts are absorbed without damage; reducing downtime.

Roof Fairings

Airodyne Roof Fairings are designed to maximize air flow by properly matching tractor to trailer gap while providing needed clearances. Research has proven that the Airodyne standard fairing height of 12’8” provides both proper air flow as well as clearance for underpasses. Further, the sides of the Airodyne Roof Fairings are canted forward to provide clearance at steep loading dock ramps.

Cab Side Fairings

The need to reduce damage and downtime has caused many fleet managers to bypass the fuel savings available from cab side fairings. These concerns do not apply to Airodyne Cab Side Fairings. Our fairings are designed without the beam-shaped brackets used by virtually all manufacturers. The brackets used by others act as crowbars when the cab side fairing are displaced and promote extensive damage to the back of the cab. Comparison studies by major fleet operators have confirmed a 95% reduction in cab side fairing damage when Airodyne units are used instead of manufacturers' units.

Note the use of reinforced brackets attached to the rear of the cab.

Custom Design and Ease of Installation

Airodyne roof and cab side fairings can be custom matched to your individual needs; including trailer size and tractor/trailer gap. Fairing assembly height and width can be appropriately manufactured for your installation, allowing for the fine tuning of air flow. Trailer gap can be properly maintained to prevent turbulence.

Airodyne fairings can be placed on new trucks (with or without the manufacturer’s reinforcing package), on trucks that have changed service, or on used trucks. All Airodyne fairings are designed for easy installation. Airodyne fairings do not require the extensive reinforcement that most manufacturer’s units do. This allows Airodyne fairings to be retrofitted at any time, without extensive labor.

Improved Appearance and Corporate Image

Trucks which are free of damage, have a seamless fitting of the fairing and enjoy a cleaner air flow present the best public image. Airodyne’s use of premium stainless steel and aluminum hardware also prevents unsightly rust staining.

Airodyne provides for the display of corporate logos with optional backlighting. ATA research confirms that the average truck is sighted 6 million times per year. The prominent display of your logo serves as a mobile image builder.

The total Airodyne combination of minimized damage, superior durability and premium components provides an improved appearance and enhanced corporate image, especially when compared to other available fairings.

Ease and Reduced Cost of Replacement

In the event damage occurs, replacement is fast and easy because of Airodyne’s uncomplicated design, reduced number of brackets and use of stainless steel fasteners. Replacement costs are approximately 1/3 of comparable repairs to manufacturers' packages.
